About Robert

Robert is a Vocational Job Coach at Thornton Township High School in Harvey, Illinois. He serves The Union of Support Staff as the Vice President, Grievance Chair, and Lead Negotiator.   He also serves as a member of the Illinois Education Association (IEA) Region 27 Council and the IEA Educational Support Professional (ESP) Council.

In January of 2009 Robert organized the New Generation of Men (New G), a young men’s mentoring program which is comprised of community service and an  award winning step team. New G has partnered with restorative justice and traveled Costa Rica to do community service  and pass out school supplies. They have partnered with Kaboom & Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois to build a playground at Lincoln Elementary in undeserved Dixmoor, Illinois.  

Robert is a volunteer with Full Circle Prison Ministry at various Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) facilities, such as Statesville Correctional Center and Cook County Jail. Since 2001  Robert has volunteered as a prison and jail facilitator, teacher, and small group leader. He participates in the distribution of the Angel Tree initiative annually. This program serves children of the incarcerated with gifts in the name of their incarcerated parent.  Robert has also been responsible for delivering care packages to newly released inmates, helping them to transition back to society.
